Is an Individual Therapy right for you?
What it is
OP provides ongoing therapy and psychiatric support for patients who are ready to manage their mental health with less structure. It offers flexible, as-needed care to maintain progress and prevent relapse.
Who it’s for
OP is ideal for those who have completed PHP or IOP and need continued support as they transition to greater independence. It’s also suitable for those who need occasional therapy or medication management but do not require intensive treatment. OP helps patients sustain the progress they’ve made while balancing work, school, and home life.
Structure and duration
OP is tailored to each patient’s needs, typically involving weekly or biweekly therapy sessions with a licensed clinician, psychiatric check-ins for medication management, and optional group support. It serves as a long-term resource for ongoing mental health care.
IOP at InnerWisdom Includes

You may be wondering...
How do I know if OP is right for me?
OP is best for individuals who have completed PHP or IOP and are ready for less structured support. It’s also a good fit if you need occasional therapy or medication management but don’t require intensive treatment. If you’re unsure, our team can help determine the best level of care for you.
How often will I have sessions?
The frequency of sessions depends on your needs. Most patients attend therapy weekly or biweekly, with psychiatric check-ins for medication management as needed.
Can patients work or go to school while in OP?
Yes. OP is designed to fit into your life, providing flexible, as-needed care that allows you to maintain work, school, and family responsibilities while getting the support you need.
What kind of therapy is offered in OP?
OP includes individual therapy, psychiatric check-ins, and optional group therapy. Sessions focus on maintaining progress, managing stress, and developing long-term coping strategies.
How is OP different from IOP?
OP is less intensive than IOP. While IOP meets multiple times per week for structured therapy, OP is more flexible, offering support on an as-needed basis. It’s designed for patients who are ready to manage their mental health more independently but still want professional guidance.
What happens if I need more support?
If your symptoms become more difficult to manage, you may benefit from stepping up to IOP or PHP for more structured care. Our team will work with you to adjust your treatment plan as needed.
How long does OP last?
There’s no set timeline—OP is tailored to your needs. Some patients continue care for several months or longer to maintain their progress and prevent relapse.
Does insurance cover OP?
Many insurance plans cover outpatient therapy and psychiatric services. Our team can help you verify your coverage and discuss payment options.
